Director’s Saddle
July 2010

Ok, I like these nice sunny days!!

Kind of makes me want to blow off work (don’t tell the boss), fire up the Harley-Davidson, crack the throttle, listen to that engine, and head out for a ride! Enjoyable!!

Nancy and I are packing for the Cowboy Dinner Tree Chapter Overnighter ride and we are definetly taking a “doggie bag” with us.

There is a bunch of cool rides and events happening this time of year. Keep an eye on the Chapter’s newsletter and website to stay in touch with it all.

Help raise some bucks for the “American Wildlife Foundation”! “Ride for the Raptors / the Raptor Run on August 1st will be leaving from Latus Motors 8:30-10am. Great ride, views of the birds and elk, lunch included, live band and so much more to enjoy! Don’t miss this event!

This year we are doing an event, on August 7th, to bring our local HOG Chapters closer together. It’s called the “BYOM” Ride. Sunset HOG, Salem HOG and Rose City HOG will all converge on Robin’s Island at Bonneville Dam. The “BYOM” stands for “Bring Your Own Meat” and we will be supplying the rest. Really important that we make a big Rose City HOG Member turnout for this, as all events! The Chapter Challenges are always fierce in competition as to which Chapter brings the most members to a given event.

Here is what we have planned so far…
Ride to the event. Sign in 9-9:30am and kick-stands up at 10am. Leaves from Latus Motors.

  • There will be 3-4 BBQ’s going, so bring what you want to cook (BYOM plus seasonings and sauce that you want to use)
  • We will have chili, baked beans, chips, cookies, sodas and water. Plates, plastic knives, forks spoons, napkins and the location will be provided.
  • BIKE GAMES will be happening too! Fun to watch and participate in.

  • Also, get ready for the Oregon and Washington State HOG Rallies. Go to www.rosecityhog.com for info on any state or national HOG happening.

See ya on the next ride,

    Dan
