Welcome to Rose City H.O.G.!

My first riding experience began on my buddy’s Honda 90 when I was 12. After that first summer of ups and downs (more down than up at first) I was hooked! After graduating high school I saved up $1,600 and bought my first motorcycle – a 77 Honda 550K.

I rode that bike until I started a family in my late 20’s. Like many parents I ended up trading in my motorcycle for a minivan and a couple of car seats. When my youngest turned 12 my wife and I agreed it was a good time for me to get back on two wheels.

I’ve always liked the nostalgic look and had my eye on a Harley Heritage Classic. I drove down to Latus Motors Harley-Davidson to see one in person and thought, "boy, that’s a lot bigger than my Honda"! I hadn’t ridden in a long time and I wasn’t sure I could handle a bike like that so I decided I would rent one for half a day and try it out. Well you know what they say about riding a bike – you never forget how. I wasn’t even out of the parking lot and I knew that Heritage was the bike for me. A few days later I purchased a new 2002 Heritage Classic. I eventually traded in my Heritage for my current bike – a 2009 Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic.

In 2007 I joined Rose City H.O.G. which opened up a whole new world for me. At first I was a little apprehensive but I quickly learned this is a chapter of great people and great rides. What more could you ask for! In 2011 I became the chapter Webmaster and in 2012, Assistant Director.

The Rose City H.O.G. motto is "Ride and Have Fun". I can’t think of a better bunch of people to make that happen. Come to one of our chapter meetings and see what we’re all about. Send me an email if you’d like to learn more; or simply Join Today.

See you on the road.
